Back in the spotlight, Jennifer Lopez is promoting “Unstoppable,” her next film, which Ben Affleck produced.
The performer showed up at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival on Friday, where she wore a silver Tamara Ralph dress that exposed skin and had black bows down the sides.
Lopez had not appeared in public since announcing her divorce from Affleck, who was conspicuously absent at the premiere.
The co-stars of the sports drama, Bobby Cannavale, Jharrel Jerome, and Don Cheadle, along with Matt Damon, who is also the film’s producer, were present, but Affleck was nowhere to be seen.
Lopez stood in between the leading guys as the stars posed for pictures on the red carpet.
The remarkable life story of wrestler Anthony Robles, who was born without a leg and went on to win a national championship at Arizona State University, is chronicled in the film “Unstoppable.”
Since their marriage in 2022, this was the first production that Affleck and Lopez collaborated on. The singer’s 2024 “This Is Me… Now: A Love Story” and the documentary that accompanied it, “The Greatest Love Story Never Told,” both starred Affleck.
After two years of marriage, the singer of “If You Had My Love” filed for divorce from Affleck on August 20. The announcement was made months after, according to Live Nation, she called off her summer tour on May 31 in order to spend “time off to be with her children, family, and close friends.”
The fact that this is the anniversary of their second Georgian wedding makes the occasion noteworthy.
The couple, who had called it quits on their 2002 engagement, revived their romance in 2021.
The couple has not yet made their divorce public, but based on court records that TODAY.com was able to get, the “Hustlers” actress asked to have her last name changed back from Affleck to Lopez. She also requested that Affleck and her be denied the right to receive spousal support from the court.
Lopez posted a slideshow of her summertime images on August 31. The tweet contained a statement that said, “Everything is unfolding in divine order.” In another picture, there was another message scrawled on her clothing that said, “she’s in bloom and unbothered/ out of reach and at peace.”
