Selena Gomez has officially been declared a billionaire by Bloomberg.
She is among the youngest women in the nation with a 10-figure wealth, with an estimated net worth of $1.3 billion. According to the journal, the success of her 2019 launch of the Rare Beauty makeup and cosmetics brand—which is sold in the US, Canada, and Mexico—accounts for a “vast bulk” of her net worth.
The 32-year-old Gomez began her acting career in her early years. She also starred in the popular Hulu series “Only Murders in the Building,” which was just given a fifth season renewal. Gomez will also feature in Jacques Audiard’s “Emilia Perez,” a musical drama that won a Cannes award. It opens in a few cinemas on November 1 and will stream on Netflix on November 13.
Even though Gomez has been more visible on film lately, she did release two new singles via her company Interscope Records in February and 2023, respectively, and started teasing a new album. Thanks to her single “Calm Down,” which she co-wrote with Afrobeats icon Rema and which is certified triple-platinum by the RIAA, she remained a constant on the Billboard Hot 100 for the majority of 2023.
The Bloomberg study highlights Gomez’s personal brand deals and sponsorships, as well as her influence on social media and her mental health brand. “The projected market value of Selena Gomez’s properties and music album sales, her interest in Wondermind, her share in Rare Beauty, her revenues from acting, brand partnerships, concert tickets, and streaming,” the publication states that the wealth analysis of the actress was conducted.
Variety’s request for comment from a Gomez spokesperson was not immediately answered.
Gomez’s next project is executive producing and acting in the Disney+ revival of “Wizards of Waverly Place,” a Disney Channel sitcom she first watched as a teenager. The follow-up series, now called “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place,” will make its network debut on October 29 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
