Takeoff, one-third of the platinum-selling rap group Migos, was shot and killed early Tuesday in Houston, Texas. He was 28.

Houston police said they responded to a shooting at a bowling and pool hall in downtown Houston around 2:30 a.m. local time.

According to a tweet from the department, one person was found dead. The police said that the other two injured were taken to the hospital in a private vehicle.

According to officials, the police were informed that a private party was held at the scene before the shooting. The investigation is ongoing.

Born in Lawrenceville, Georgia, Takeoff began performing with his uncle and fellow rapper Quavo in 2008 as Migos with Offset.
