Although Henry Cavill has put away his Superman cape, the actor is ready to save the world once more in the next spy thriller “Argylle” by Matthew Vaughn.
The film’s first trailer, which was unveiled by Apple Original Films, teased Cavill’s super-spy, Argylle, who travels the world on top-secret assignments. The movie, which will be released on February 2, 2024, was previously supposed to be based on an upcoming book by debut novelist Elly Conway, but the teaser and the official synopsis now show that Conway also plays a role in the story. She hasn’t been confirmed to be a real person yet.
The narrative summary states that Bryce Dallas Howard plays Elly Conway, a reclusive author of a number of best-selling espionage books whose idea of happiness is a night at home with her computer & her cat, Alfie. But tranquil evenings at home become a thing of the past as the fictional book plots, which revolve around secret agent Argylle and his quest to expose a global spy syndicate, start to resemble the covert operations of a real-life spy organization.
A stellar cast that includes Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara, John Cena, Dua Lipa, Ariana DeBose, and Samuel L. Jackson is joined by Cavill and Howard in the film.
Along with Adam Bohling, David Reid, and executive producers Zygi Camasa, Carlos Peres, Claudia Vaughn, and Adam Fishbach, Vaughn, the “Kingsman” franchise director, also acts as a producer on the movie. The movie’s screenwriter is Jason Fuchs.
At a later time, “Argylle” will be available to stream on Apple TV+ thanks to Universal Pictures’ distribution.
