Anne Werching, the actress who played the role of FBI agent Renee Walker in the TV series 24, has died at the age of 45.

Werching died Sunday morning in Los Angeles after a battle with cancer, his publicist told The Associated Press. The type of cancer is not specified.

Neil Druckmann, who created the video game The Last of Us in which Wersching provided the voice of Tess, wrote on Twitter: “We have just lost a beautiful artist and human being. My heart is broken. Thoughts are with his loved ones.”

Actor Abigail Spencer, who appeared with Werching in the sci-fi series Timeless, tweeted: “We love you Anne Werching. You will be deeply missed.”

Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Werching appeared on dozens of television shows during her two-decade career. Her first credit was on Star Trek: Enterprise, and she went on to have recurring roles in the seventh and eighth seasons of 24, as well as Bosch, The Vampire Diaries, Marvel’s Runaways, The Rookie, and most recently the second season. Seasons of Star Trek: Picard as the Borg Queen.

According to Deadline, Warshing was diagnosed with cancer in 2020 and continued to work. She is survived by her husband, actor Stephen Full, and three sons. A GoFundMe page has been set up to support the family.
