The International Cricket Council on Wednesday announced that the final of the World Test Championship will be held at The Oval in London from June 7 to 11.
The match being billed as the “Last Test” would be the second edition of the final.
In 2021, New Zealand was the first team to become World Test champions, defeating India in the final at the Rose Bowl in Southampton, England.
Four teams are still in realistic contention to make the final, with Australia leading the World Test Championship standings and almost assured of progress. India, Sri Lanka and South Africa come next in the standings.
The series of four Test matches between Australia and India will start from Thursday. Only a 4–0 defeat would make it impossible for the Australians to reach the final of the World Test Championship.
