On the February 10, 2023 episode of WWE SmackDown, The Usos retained their SmackDown Tag Team Championship against Braun Strowman and Ricochet. Nevertheless, it looks like the cracks in The Bloodline are still showing.
Jey Uso has been a no-show on WWE programming since the Royal Rumble events, in which Sami Zayn betrayed Roman Reigns after defeating Kevin Owens. Just as Samantha Irwin was about to announce that only Jimmy Uso would defend the SmackDown Tag Team Titles, Jay Uso walked out of the crowd at the last minute.
The real-life brothers played an exciting match and emerged victorious. After the bout, Paul Heyman briefly saw Jay but they did not interact. At the end of the show, Paul Heyman approached Jimmy Uso with some news. The former expressed that Roman Reigns did not want The Usos to be called out at Elimination Chamber the following week and advised them to stay at home.
The Usos not appearing for WWE SmackDown and Elimination Chamber may be for storyline purposes, but there is also an underlying real-life scenario. As reported by WrestlingNews.com, the DUI history of the Tag Team Champions could bar them from entering Canada.
Jey Uso shares a meaningful moment with Sami Zayn on WWE SmackDown
Roman Reigns may have resolved his issues with The Usos, but another superstar with whom he is yet to resolve his issues is Sami Zayn. Ahead of their Elimination Chamber title match, former honorary UC shared quick but heartwarming words with Jay.
While walking backstage at WWE SmackDown, Jey Uso ran into Sami Zayn. The latter welcomed the champions and sympathized with their current position in relation to Roman rule.
Sami then expressed his gratitude for Jey’s actions at the Royal Rumble. This could be due to The Bloodline’s exit or because the latter did not participate in The Bloodline’s beatdown against Zayn.
The former Intercontinental Champion shared that Reigns was going down at the Elimination Chamber, but Jey didn’t have to go down with him. After hinting at the partnership, Zayn shared that he accepted Jey Uso.
For now, it’s still unclear what the current status of The Bloodlines is, specifically going into the Elimination Chamber. Due to Rance’s decision to ban his cousins, it seems that trust is gone. It remains to be seen whether The Usos will follow the orders of the Tribal Chief.
