The streak continues as the Milwaukee Bucks won their 15th straight game 118-104 over the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday night at Barclays Center in New York. This is the fourth-longest winning streak in franchise history.

This is not only the longest streak in the league this season but also the most consecutive winning streak in the NBA since Phoenix went 18 straight last season. Several members of the current Bucks core were part of the franchise’s second-longest winning streak, which was also 18 games in the 2019–20 season.

After Sunday’s win over Phoenix, Middleton said the 2019-20 team is on a streak, but now — while they’re enjoying each win — they’re not focused on an extended run of success. Giannis Antetokounmpo agreed.

“First of all we’ve never been a part of this — it’s hard not to be excited about, oh no, we didn’t lose a game this month,” Antetokounmpo said Tuesday night. “It’s tough. I think it was 2020.

“Now at the end of the day, did we win the championship that year? We didn’t. I can still tell my kids and my grandchildren that we won 18 in a row. It’s a great story. But at the end of the day, it was a Better story when these 15 games you’ve been able to build good habits. Me personally, it’s great. It’s great. I’m not going to lie. Being able to be a team that wins 15 in a row , It’s a great feeling, but it doesn’t matter.

So if finishing so many games in a row doesn’t mean much now, what might it mean in the big picture?

“It’s great to be on a winning streak like that, winning 15 games in a row with so many guys in and out of the lineup, different guys stepping up in different parts of the game and closing out the game, it’s Too big.” Said Middleton after the Nets win. “It shows how deep a team we have.

“So I mean, when you look at the big picture that you think about the guys on this team, whatever lineup we throw at them, we have a chance to win. If certain lineups don’t work out We can try a different approach.” Different lineups, and different styles of basketball and we can find a way to win and match up with most of the teams here. So I think that gives us confidence going forward.

Pat Connaughton agreed, noting how the team had to come from several double-digit deficits to beat the Nets. The half-time message, in particular, was about focusing on the remaining 24 minutes, “It wasn’t hey, let’s keep the streak going – it’s happening in this game, how about we do our best to win each game.” are,” Connaughton said.
