A tower of smoke was launched into the air Sunday night after an explosion at an Archer Daniels Midland factory in Illinois injured many workers.

In the ADM processing complex’s east facility in Decatur, Illinois, an explosion happened shortly after 7 o’clock.

According to a statement the agricultural company posted on its website on Sunday, several personnel were hurt and sent to a hospital.

The business got in touch with the Decatur Fire Department but claimed it was unsure what caused the explosion.

Early on Monday, ADM informed The Associated Press via email that it was unable to provide any further details at the time.

In a video published by WCIA-TV, a sizable cloud of dark smoke can be seen rising high over the plant.

Decatur is situated about 180 miles southeast of Chicago, where ADM’s headquarters are, and about 40 miles east of Springfield.
