Nearly two months after her new boyfriend, Ethan Slater, filed for divorce from his wife Lilly Jay, Ariana Grande formally filed for divorce from her husband Dalton Gomez.
The 30-year-old actress is following in the footsteps of her boyfriend, with whom she recently moved in, as she filed for divorce on Monday at the same time as her husband of two years, according to TMZ.
According to the publication, Ariana’s well-known attorney Laura Wasser gave “irreconcilable differences” as the basis for the divorce.
Dalton promptly filed his paperwork shortly after, demonstrating that it was a coordinated effort by the ex-couple.
According to TMZ insiders, the couple had everything settled before heading to court, and Ariana will ‘rip Dalton a check’ after the marriage is formally dissolved.
A prenuptial agreement was also signed, and it stipulated that the couple would separate on February 20, 2023.
The publication’s source also mentions that the delay between the separation and divorce filing was caused by the two taking their time to thoroughly discuss the situation and come to an amicable agreement.
No ill will exists between the two, according to the TMZ insider, and “they have been really caring about and respectful of each other every step of this process.”
Dalton, a luxury real estate salesperson, and Ariana started dating in January 2020, and 11 months later they made an engagement announcement.
In May 2021, less than 20 guests attended the intimate wedding of the two at their Montecito, California, home.
Ariana shared pictures from the event at the time, but they have now been removed from Instagram.
Ethan, Ariana’s new boyfriend, filed for divorce with his ‘devastated’ wife Lilly Jay back in July.
He and Lilly wed in 2018 and welcomed a boy into the world in August of the same year.
According to rumors, Ethan and Ariana fell in love while filming Wicked in London last year.

Weeks ago, People magazine said that up to their divorces from their respective husbands, the two were merely “friends.”
However, another source asserted that these assertions were “completely false,” adding that there were “receipts to prove it.”
The second insider said to DailyMail.com that Arianna and Ethan had no intention of making their relationship known to the public.
They wanted to conceal it and resume their marriages as if nothing had occurred. But since they were discovered, this was impossible.
