Taylor Swift was seen on Thursday supporting Kansas City at Arrowhead Stadium as the Chiefs begin the NFL season with great expectations for a three-peat Super Bowl victory.
With a home-field advantage against the Baltimore Ravens—a team they thrashed earlier this year in the AFC championship game—the Chiefs will kick off the football season on Thursday night.
Social media users posted a video of Swift entering the stadium while donning a big necklace around her neck, thigh-high red boots, and a denim corset and shorts combination.
Swift was sighted at an incredible 13 (her lucky number) Chiefs games the previous season, supporting the club and her boyfriend, tight end Travis Kelce, from a box perched high above the field. She was donning exclusive red-and-gold Chiefs merchandise and gaining enough media attention to infuriate some die-hard NFL fans.
Most famously, she returned to the United States immediately following her last Eras Tour performance in Tokyo, supporting Kelce and the Chiefs as they won the Super Bowl for the second time in a row.
Since Kelce showed up to Swift’s Kansas City Eras Tour show in July 2023 wearing a friendship bracelet and a dream, the two have been embroiled in a well-publicized love tale.
Swift’s visit at the Chiefs’ home game against the Chicago Bears on September 24 officially solidified their relationship in the history books and on the front page, despite rumors to the contrary circulating throughout last summer and into the 2023–24 NFL season.
Following Kelce’s Super Bowl victory, it seemed even more serious: broadcast cameras saw the couple kissing and embracing on Allegiant Stadium’s field as they celebrated the win. Later, photos of them celebrating at parties together appeared on social media.
Swift and Kelce have been spotted openly supporting each other in their professions ever since that fateful September game against the Bears. Swift has been spotted in a box at Chiefs games, and Kelce has frequently been spotted in the VIP tent during the Eras Tour.
Swift called Kelce out during her performance in Argentina, altering the words of her song “Karma” from “Karma is the guy on the screen” to “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs.” This caused Kelce to blush and celebrate.
Swift’s eleventh album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” was released in April. Fans instantly deduced that two of the tracks, “The Alchemy” and “So High School,” which are both filled with allusions to football and commentary on the emotions of being in a new relationship, were probably about her affair with Kelce.
At her 87th (Kelce’s jersey number) event of the Eras Tour in May in Paris, which Kelce attended, she seemed to validate those theories.
Swift debuted a new red top and yellow skirt during her “1989” performance, maybe as a tribute to the Chiefs’ colors. She also sang “The Alchemy,” one of her surprise tracks.
Before she embarks on another tour, Swift will have one more stop on the Eras Tour, which begins in Miami on October 18. This will give her four more opportunities to support the Chiefs. Prior to their game against Miami in Week 6, the Chiefs will have a bye week.
Swift will complete her tour on December 8 in Vancouver, Canada, so she should be able to see the Chiefs play their final four games of the regular season and have plenty of time to recover in preparation for, should the Chiefs advance, the postseason.
