6 dead, 3 seriously injured after bus and box truck collide in upstate New York

A 2021 Freightliner box truck and a 2013 Express bus collided Saturday in Louisville, New York, killing six people and seriously injuring three others, according to New York State Police.

Police responded to the fatal crash on state Highway 37 at 6:02 a.m. The Lawrence County Medical Examiner also responded to the scene.

The police said that all the victims were traveling in the express bus. One of the three injured is in critical condition, while two others are seriously injured.

The injured have been taken to a local hospital.

“State Route 37 from County Route 14 to Coles Creek Road in Louisville, St. Lawrence Co., is closed until further notice due to a fatal crash involving a bus and a box truck,” state police tweeted later Saturday.

The police said that the investigation is ongoing.
