A guy has been detained after police in Philadelphia claim he was seen on surveillance footage smashing a woman’s car, pointing a gun at her, and headbutting her.
According to the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, 26-year-old Cody Heron is accused of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment of another person, and possession of a weapon.
According to authorities, Heron is accused of hitting a mother and her two children after the woman’s car was struck on the driver’s side near City Hall on Sunday night. According to officials, he was present amid a sizable group of ATV, motorbike, and dirt bike riders in the vicinity.
According to prosecutors, video of the event shows a rider kicking up the rear window of the woman’s car and sprinkling smashed glass all over the two kids, who are aged 2 and 5, in the back seat.
When the victim confronts the defendant on the street, he can be seen retrieving a gun from his waistband and threatening her with it, according to the DA. Heron headbutts her during the altercation before reentering his car and driving away.
Wednesday, it was unclear whether Heron had a lawyer who could represent him.
The woman in the video confronted Heron after he broke the car’s glass, according to Nikki Bullock, 23, on Tuesday.
Bullock claimed to be employed by Uber Eats and that she stood her ground against the motorcycle driver in order to defend her children.
“I’m delighted my children are safe. I’m relieved that no one was wounded, Bullock remarked. It could have turned so much worse. I’m just relieved that it’s not a video of me passing away online.
According to NBC Philadelphia, the video was taken from a double-decker tour bus by a witness who was traveling to Philadelphia from Florida.
On Wednesday, no one could be reached to comment on Heron’s family.
