Prior to their Week 12 matchup with the Indianapolis Colts, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a long list of injuries, but the majority of them were on the defensive end of the field.

There would be no justifications for the Bucs to play below par offensively.

At least in the initial stages.

After only five minutes of play, the Buccaneers were deep in Colts territory. In an attempt to cross the goal line with a quarterback sneak, Baker Mayfield dove behind his center, Robert Hainsey, from the 1-yard line, throwing his body into the center of the pile.

But when the bodies started to move, Mayfield was left on the ground, obviously in pain.

Replay shows that in an attempt to stop the touchdown, Colts defensive tackle DeForest Buckner, weighing 287 pounds, appeared to land with his entire body weight on Mayfield’s right ankle.

Baker embodies unwavering toughness. However, judging by his response, this appeared to be an ankle injury with the potential to be serious.

Right now, Mayfield seems to be attempting to brush it off by standing on the Buccaneers’ sideline. Since then, rumors have surfaced suggesting that Baker intends to play this game again.

In the event that Mayfield is unable to continue playing, Kyle Trask, the backup quarterback, will guide the Bucs’ offense.
