At a rally on Friday in battleground Michigan, President Joe Biden attacked the “right-wing Project 2025” and made it the main topic of his address in an attempt to quell calls from Democrats for him to drop out of the presidential contest.

“People, Project 2025 is the biggest assault on our political system and individual liberties that has ever been put forth in this nation’s history,” Biden declared, going on to say that the project “is run and funded by Trump people” and that it is “a blueprint for a second Trump.”

With a more animated than typical performance, Biden electrified the crowd by threatening to unleash a “nightmare” on the nation should his Republican opponent win and carry it out. “It is extremely dangerous to have Donald Trump in office for another four years. Declaring Project 2025 a danger to American ideals, Biden stated, “it is quite serious.

Biden was met with cries of “Don’t you quit!” and “We got your back!” as soon as he reached the stage. There’s “a lot of speculation lately,” the president informed them, regarding whether he will continue to run for office.

He exclaimed, “I’m running, and we’re going to win!”

In anticipation of a second Trump term, former administration officials and Trump friends, such as Paul Dans and Spencer Chretien, penned Project 2025, a 900-page policy road map. In addition to drastically altering the tax system and imposing limitations on abortion, it would demolish a large portion of the US government and replace it with federal employees who support Trump’s policies. It has the support of numerous conservative organizations and is led by the Heritage Foundation.

After a surprising debate performance that some in the party view as potentially deadly to his chances of winning reelection, Biden is focusing on Project 2025 as a means of bringing the Democratic Party together as it splinters over his future in the race. At the gathering, a large number of voters supported him and expressed their disapproval of the Democrats’ demand that he resign. It was also evident that the right-wing text has become popular within the Democratic Party, serving as a rallying call for those who are determined to prevent Trump from winning the presidency.

According to a Biden staffer, the president’s team intends to keep Project 2025 front and center at the GOP convention the following week.

The first seven Michigan voters NBC News interviewed with were all aware of Project 2025 and had strong feelings about it before to Biden’s speech at the rally in Detroit.

It’s horrifying. It would completely destroy our democracy and pack the administration with Trump supporters, according to Royal Oak resident Deanna Zapico. It would resemble Hitler’s 1933 Germany. An election would not happen for a very long period. That is what I’m afraid of.

Zapico declared, “I’m sharing it with everybody.”

In a nutshell, Brighton resident Deborah Fuertes described it as “scary.”

She declared, “This poses an existential threat.”

Trump’s “name’s all over that thing,” according to Grosse Pointe Woods-based sales manager Angela Heard. “We’re going to be like The Handmaid’s Tale if we don’t get our sh*t together.”

Trump made an effort to disassociate himself from the policy outline the day before the rally.

“My knowledge of Project 2025 is zero. He posted on social media, saying, “I have not seen it, I don’t know who is in charge of it, and unlike our very well received Republican Platform, I had nothing to do with it.” “However, the extreme left Democrats are having a field day trying to persuade me to support any and all programs that are mentioned.”

In a poll conducted on Friday by NPR, PBS, and Marist, 16% of respondents indicated they thought favorably of Project 2025, while 42% did not. A further 42% had never heard of it or weren’t sure.

Some Biden supporters expressed their frustration or anger toward the Democrats throughout the rally, fearing that their efforts will weaken the party and give Trump more advantages.

Mary McInnes of South Lyon stated, “It’s a pivotal point,” fearing that it will be impossible to alter the nomination without causing more turmoil. “We must unite as a single voice, given where we are at.”

“We must cease consuming our own,” Fuentes continued.

Longtime Democratic organizer and former Detroit-based campaign assistant Abby Clark claimed there is “intense fear” that Trump would prevail if Biden withdraws from the contest.

“Most of the people I’ve talked to think it would be great if the president took a step back and let someone else take over,” said Clark, a volunteer for the Democratic organization Pass the Torch.

Applause broke out for Michigan Lt. Gov. Garlin Gilchrist before Biden spoke, as he made fun of the Democrats who want Biden out of office.

He remarked, “It’s a little too much fun, I’ll tell you, for certain people to get on TV and trash speak our president.”

Heard stated that in light of the support that Biden lost in the debate, she thinks Vice President Kamala Harris likely has a better chance of beating Trump. She yet hopes he continues to run and wins a second term. She also thinks Democrats should quit disparaging one another.

She made reference to the Republican Party’s unwavering support for Trump after his conviction and additional criminal charges, saying, “I wish the Republican and Democratic Parties were the same.”

“They support him,” she remarked. “Let’s support our candidate,”

At a Biden event, the president addressed the media, which was unusual.

With reference to the reporters present in the room, he remarked, “They’ve been hammering me.” “I get confused with names sometimes,” he said. “But guess what? Trump has received a free pass.

One woman leaving the rally remarked that the president’s speech was “amazing” and that it had inspired her to offer to lead a get-out-the-vote campaign for him in Detroit this autumn.
