In contrast to previous declarations from the White House regarding his medical treatment, President Joe Biden informed Democratic governors on Wednesday that he had been cleared by a physician following last week’s debate.

During his face-to-face and video conference meeting with the Democratic governors on Wednesday night, the president was questioned over his disastrous debate performance from the previous week.

Two sources acquainted with the exchange said that when asked if he had received medical attention following the discussion, he assured the assembled governors he had been checked out by a doctor and everything was good. A few hours prior, Biden’s medical history was revealed by White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, who said that Biden hadn’t had a full physical and taken multiple tests since February.

Biden’s remarks were originally made public by Politico. The president is trying to bolster his leftist base in light of doubts about his capacity to carry out his duties and defeat Donald Trump in November.

In a lengthy radio interview that aired on Thursday, Biden said, “I had a terrible night, a terrible night,” to listeners from a Wisconsin station. And the truth is that I made a mistake and messed up.”

“It wasn’t a good debate for me,” he went on. Ninety minutes on stage is that. In 3.5 years, check out what I’ve accomplished. I oversaw the recovery of the economy from the verge of disaster.”

The White House has now admitted to their previous omission and stated that although Biden hasn’t had a medical since February, he has seen a doctor frequently for quick check-ins ever since, including following the debate.

White House spokesman Andrew Bates sent a statement to NBC News on Thursday morning stating, “The President was seen a few days later to check on his cold and was doing fine.” The White House also stated that since the debate a week ago, Biden has not had a brain scan of any type.

Similar to previous presidents, Biden travels with a personal doctor who is available for any requirements.

The Democratic Governors Association chairman, Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota, arranged Biden’s meeting with governors as part of a larger attempt to allay worries over his dismal debate performance and the way forward.
