After she and a male companion were asked to leave a performance of “Beetlejuice” in Denver last weekend because they were interfering with the performance, Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert apologized.

Until security footage of Boebert interfering with the performance appeared, she had denied acting inappropriately. She and her partner were reprimanded by personnel, according to an incident record, for “vaping, singing, [and] causing a disturbance.”

“There’s no perfect blueprint for dealing with a public and difficult divorce, which over the last few months has made for a difficult personal time for me and my entire family,” the Republican congressman posted on social media on Friday night. “I’ve done my best to manage it with elegance and strength, but I just didn’t live up to my standards on Sunday. I apologize because that is unacceptable.

Boebert’s actions, particularly her usage of a vaporizer during the performance, infuriated some audience members. Boebert initially denied using a vape pen and said that she was kicked out of the performance because she was too passionate.

I admit that I absolutely loved Beetlejuice at the Buell Theatre, and I apologize for laughing and singing too loudly. Boebert posted something online.

Nevertheless, the video, which has gone viral on social media, reveals Boebert smoking vapes, puffing smoke into the air, dancing while seated, snapping photos of the event, and flashing ushers the middle finger as she is being led out of the theater.

Boebert questioned, “Do you know who I am?” and “I will be contacting the mayor,” claims the incident report.

In a different video, Boebert and her male partner can be seen fondling one other during the performance.

In her Friday apologies, Boebert avoided mentioning the second video specifically. She did admit to vaping but stated that the reason she had initially denied it was because she “did not recall” doing so.

“Whether it was the excitement of watching a much-anticipated show or the inherent fear of being in a new place, I really did not recall vaping that particular night when I recounted the night’s events with my campaign team while expressing my appreciation for the musical.

Boebert, who narrowly lost her bid for reelection last year, is attempting to present a heads-down manner in the district in contrast to her rabble-rousing character in Washington as she faces a rematch over the same Democrat.
