Barbenheimer, step aside; Saw Patrol has arrived.

Four big films are coming out this weekend, including the kid-friendly “PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie” from Paramount, the bloody, R-rated “Saw X” from Lionsgate, the space opera “The Creator” from 20th Century, and Sony’s GameStop stock tale “Dumb Money.”

“PAW Patrol” is anticipated to have the highest opening with an estimated $18 to $20 million, but “Saw X” will be closely behind with an estimated $15 to $18 million. However, some estimates are higher, surpassing the “PAW Patrol” puppies by $20–25 million.

In Thursday previews, “Saw X” has earned $2 million at the box office while “The Creator” has brought in $1.6 million.

Based on the well-liked children’s television show, “PAW Patrol” tells the story of a group of search and rescue dogs that save the town of Adventure City. Kim Kardashian, Chris Rock, Taraji P. Henson, Marsai Martin, McKenna Grace, and James Marsden are among the voice actors. Due to the pandemic, the first film had a $13 million opening weekend in 2021 and was simultaneously released on Paramount+. The $30 million sequel’s goal is to outperform the first.

“Saw X” is also anticipated to surpass the franchise’s earlier installments. The tenth installment of the “Saw” series, which occurs between “Saw” and “Saw II,” stars Tobin Bell again as the serial killer Jigsaw. With a $13 million budget, “Saw X” should outperform 2017’s “Jigsaw” ($16.6 million) and 2021’s “Spiral” ($8.7 million opening).

The sci-fi movie “The Creator,” starring John David Washington and directed by Gareth Edwards, is expected to gross between $16 million and $19 million. While “Dumb Money,” starring Seth Rogen, Paul Dano, Pete Davidson, and America Ferrera and telling the battle between Wall Street and Reddit for GameStop stock in 2021, is anticipated to gross $5 million to $8 million in its wide release, it is likely to finish in third place this weekend.
