Cincinnati will host Mattel’s Barbie Dreamhouse Living Tour this weekend. On Saturday, August 19 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., the pop-up truck will make an appearance at Kenwood Towne Centre close to The Cheesecake Factory.
Taking advantage of the success of the current box office champ, Mattel’s truck is hawking jewelry, sweaters, and tote bags made in the image of Barbie. None of the merchandise that has been shared on the pop-up’s social media accounts appears to be related to the film, instead featuring the company’s venerable designs and images.
The movie had more than $1 billion in worldwide box office revenue, and Mattel does market a number of products that are inspired by it. Pre-orders for Kate McKinnon’s “Weird Barbie” are currently being taken; however, Margot Robbie’s “Typical Barbie” and Ryan Gosling’s “Ken” styles have already sold out.
Allan, President Barbie, and even Ken’s catchphrase “I Am Kenough” are all depicted on clothes that is available for purchase at Mattel.
Moving up Ohio, the truck will pass through Cincinnati, Columbus, and Cleveland.
