Customers of a bank affiliated with Walmart claim that they are still unable to access their money, which has put them in a dire financial situation.

Customers of the Green Dot Banking Group claim that holds on their accounts have sometimes lasted for days or even weeks. Customers of Walmart are offered deposit and debit card services by Green Dot, which also conducts business as Go2Bank.

Mary Cannon, a native of Florida, claimed she’s still having issues. Since the middle of July, Cannon has been unable to access her more than $7,000 IRS tax refund. She claimed that a hold for suspicious behavior was still in place on her account, which she thinks to be incorrect but which she has been unable to clear up with the bank.

They are “running me around,” she said.

As a result of “an issue with one of our processing partners,” Green Dot saw significant call volumes on Thursday, according to a note posted on the company’s homepage. It also stated that “some functionality, including balances & transactions, may have been impacted.”

A Green Dot spokesman responded via email to an inquiry from NBC News by stating that there was no system or platform downtime and later amended the message on the company’s website.

While the notice no longer refers to a functionality issue, it still advises clients to try connecting to their accounts through mobile or web to verify balances or operations, “or check back later while call volumes and wait times are lower.”

Sara Morgan, a native of Tennessee, has likewise been unable to access her account’s cash or make transactions through it for six days and counting.

I’m really stressed out, she wrote in an email. “[I’m] using credit cards to pay bills. I fail to see how they can get away with denying people access to alternate means of receiving their money.

Customer complaints about being unable to access their funds were common on Friday, according to UpDownRadar.com, which records web outages. These assertions have not been independently verified by NBC News.

The Green Dot Corp., situated in Austin, Texas, has a subsidiary called the online-only Green Dot.

On one of its websites, Walmart claims, “With over 20 years in business & millions of happy consumers, you can feel confident with Green Dot.”

Requests for a response from a Walmart official were not immediately fulfilled.
