In response to Hamas‘ attack on Israel, Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis declared during an appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that “Hamas needs to be no more.”
DeSantis declared on Tuesday that the footage and photographs that have appeared in the days since the initial incursion by Hamas terrorists are “absolutely disgusting” and that Israel has the right to self-defense.
The governor of Florida declared, “You have to destroy the networks and infrastructure of terrorism, and Hamas has to be destroyed.”
He expressed worry that, in instances like this, people frequently claim that Israel has the right to defend itself and respond, and then, “two weeks later, individuals start to blame Israel.”
Hamas terror is not morally equivalent to an Israeli citizen, according to DeSantis.
A day after the 50th anniversary of the beginning of the 1973 Yom Kippur War, during which Israel was invaded by several of its neighbors, Hamas, which has dominated Gaza for more than 15 years, commenced its onslaught on Israel on Saturday.
The insurgents have stormed villages, fired rockets at different sections of Israel, killed residents, and captured soldiers as well as citizens.
The United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, and a number of other nations have classified Hamas as a terrorist group.
Israel claims to have retaken the territory that Hamas had occupied, and the Israeli government has responded by attacking Gaza. Both Israel and Gaza have experienced hundreds of fatalities.
Israel has declared war on Hamas, & the attack has led to rumors that Israel may invade Gaza completely in retaliation.
DeSantis described the invasion by Hamas as a “clearly orchestrated attack.”
He claimed there has been a “movement” against Israel “dealing with Hamas once and for all” because the nation would face international condemnation. As a result, he believed that certain Israeli officials may have refrained because of a practical, political consideration.
DeSantis’s visit on “Morning Joe” is the most recent of a number appearances he has had with media organizations that aren’t often frequented by conservatives. Last month, he made an appearance on “Real Time with Bill Maher”.
