Derek Carr, the quarterback for the Saints, is healthy enough to play against the Buccaneers on Sunday despite last week’s sprain of his right shoulder’s AC joint.

In the absence of a pregame setback, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that the Saints planned to start Carr.

Carr’s throwing shoulder injury, which he received last Sunday against the Green Bay Packers, had him labeled as questionable. Carr went for X-rays during the third quarter of that game and did not come back.

His playing time will depend on how useful he could still be, he remarked earlier in the week.

“If it were up to me, I would just say, ‘Yeah, I’m playing. I’m leaving today. Carr stated on Wednesday that the coaches “would probably have other words than that.” “Therefore, you two must cooperate. I spoke with [coach Dennis Allen] and we agreed on a lot. This is about the team and about winning. But I’ll be out there if I think I can contribute to our victory and I feel confident doing so, etc.

After Carr got hurt, the Saints added quarterback Jake Luton to the 53-man roster; but, he won’t play against Tampa Bay. Carr will have Jameis Winston’s support.
