Vincent Abubakar -2 goals

Abubakar is another star to emerge from this World Cup in Qatar. Despite turning 30, he has shone on the biggest stage with his goals. The Al Nasser striker scored to give Cameroon their first point at this edition of the World Cup and assisted in their 3-3 draw with Serbia.

The 30-year-old then helped Cameroon script history with a goal in the win against Brazil. His goal made Cameroon the only African nation to beat Brazil at the World Cup. His goal in World Cup 2022 will go down as an iconic goal.

Ritsu Doan -2 goals

Ritsu Doan is proving to be a super-sub at the World Cup. In Japan’s opening game in Group E, he came off the bench to help Japan equalize with Germany and pave the way for a miraculous 2-1 victory. Doan then followed it up with another super-sub performance against Spain.

Once again, he came off the bench and fired his side back into contention with a timely goal before slotting home the winner. His performance helped Japan top the group ahead of Spain and Germany.

Brill Embolo -2 goals

Embolo scored Switzerland’s only goal in their Group G opener against Cameroon. Monaco’s strike also found the net in the Swiss’ 3-2 win over Serbia to help them reach the World Cup’s knockout stages. He scored Switzerland’s second goal of the match to equalize his side as Serbia came back to take the lead.

Andrej Kramaric -2 goals

Kramaric scored both goals in Croatia’s 4-1 win over Canada in the second match of the group stage. His first goal for Croatia equalized after Alphonso Davies put Canada ahead. The Hoffenheim striker then added to his tally with his side’s third goal.

Bruno Fernandes -2 goals

Bruno opened his goalscoring record against Uruguay in which he scored two goals. He took Portugal to the last 16 of the World Cup with a cross-turn goal and a penalty in extra time. Bruno has proven himself as a provider as well as a goalscorer and penalty specialist on various occasions.

Cho Gu-sung -2 goals

The South Korean striker scored both goals in a 3-2 loss to Ghana. Cho leveled his side’s scores with two goals in the space of three minutes, but South Korea eventually lost the game.

Ferran Torres -2 goals

The Spanish forward scored two goals in the win against Costa Rica. Spain scored seven goals against their Central American rivals and Ferran found the net twice, one from the penalty spot. The Barcelona man is quick and can help when needed.

With Giroud at the heart of the attack and Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann to back him up, France is favorites to defend their title.

In the opening match of the group, England defeated Iran 6-0 and Rashford started the tournament by scoring from the bench. He then scored twice in England’s final group game against Wales to make it three goals in the group stage. Which made him one of the joint top goalscorers at the FIFA World Cup 2022.

Goncalo Ramos -3 goals

The 21-year-old Benfica striker made history by scoring a hat-trick in his first-ever World Cup opener for Portugal. Goncalo Ramos scored a hat-trick in the match against Switzerland in place of Cristiano Ronaldo in Portugal’s starting eleven. It was the first treble of the FIFA World Cup 2022. The hat trick against Switzerland made Ramos the youngest player since Pele in 1958 to score a treble in the knockout stages of the World Cup.

The Ecuador international found the net three times at the FIFA World Cup 2022. He scored two goals against host nation Qatar in the tournament’s opening game and then equalized with a goal against the Netherlands. Unfortunately for Valencia, Ecuador crashed out of the World Cup at the group stage, losing 1-2 to Senegal in their final group game.

The left winger is in excellent form in this competition. He has scored in three group-stage matches against Senegal, Ecuador, and Qatar. With Memphis Depay still not fully fit to start, Cody Gakpo emerges as a viable option.

Bukayo Saka -3 goals

England’s rising star scored twice against Iran in his opening match at the 2022 World Cup. They defeated Iran by two goals each. The Arsenal star has been a huge asset for England at this World Cup and hopefully, we will see more of him. Saka scored his third goal of the tournament in the last 16 matches against Senegal.

Spain striker Alvaro Morata has been the perfect super-sub for Luis Enrique’s Spain at the World Cup. Morata opened his goal tally after coming off the bench in a 7-0 win over Costa Rica. The Atletico Madrid striker then came off the bench to once again hold Spain to a 1-1 draw with Germany. He also scored the opening goal in Spain’s match against Japan in the final group stage match in Qatar and became the second player to score in three consecutive group matches at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Julian Alvarez (4 goals)

The Manchester City forward scored two goals against Croatia in the semi-final. Alvarez is now in the running for the Golden Boot along with teammate and captain Lionel Messi.

Olivier Giroud (4 goals)

With Karim Benzema out of the World Cup due to injury, Giroud is France’s main striker. Giroud scored two goals in France’s first group-stage win over Australia. With Giroud at the heart of the attack and Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann to back him up, France is favorite to defend their title. He also scored against Poland and England in the knockout stage to take France to the semi-finals.

Lionel Messi (5 goals)

Messi is looking to lift the trophy this year and has been in superb form this season for both club and country. He scored in both games, with a penalty against Saudi Arabia and a long-range shot against Mexico. Argentina lost its first match against Saudi Arabia and needed a win against Mexico. Messi rose to the occasion again and delivered when Argentina wanted it most.

He then put Argentina ahead against Australia in the Round of 16 on his historic day. In one day, Messi played his 1000th competitive senior game, surpassing Diego Maradona’s World Cup goal tally with his ninth strike in tournament history. This was also his first goal in the knockout stages of the World Cup. His fourth goal of the tournament came against the Netherlands in the quarterfinals.

Kylian Mbappe (5 goals)

The French international is a goal machine. Having dominated Ligue 1, the striker now has his sights set on the FIFA World Cup Golden Boot in Qatar. Mbappe has scored five goals in three games. He scored a goal against Australia, a brace against Denmark in the group stage, and a brace against Poland in the Round of 16 matches.
