Twelve individuals were murdered by Israeli strikes early on Sunday in Gaza, four of whom were taking refuge in a makeshift camp for displaced people within a hospital complex. In the meantime, two people were killed by a Palestinian knife attack in a suburb of Tel Aviv.

After almost ten months of fighting in Gaza and the deaths of two prominent militants in separate attacks in Iran and Lebanon this week, tensions have escalated. The deaths sparked threats of retaliation from Iran and its allies as well as concerns about the possibility of an even more catastrophic regional conflict.

According to an Israeli official who spoke with NBC News, Israel is ready for what might be a multiday strike by Iran and Hezbollah, involving waves of missiles and drones fired over an extended period of time.

“They’ll merely attempt to exhaust us,” the representative stated.

According to Israel’s Magen David Adom rescue agency and a local hospital, a man in his 80s and a woman in her 70s were slain in the stabbing incident, while two other males were hurt. According to the police, a Palestinian militant who had been “neutralized” was the one who carried out the attack, and they were looking for further suspects.

Concerns that more than one attacker was involved were increased when the rescuers reported that the injured were discovered in three distinct sites, each roughly 500 yards apart.

In retaliation for the destruction of its embassy in Damascus, Iran launched 300 ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones toward Israel on April 13. The missiles were fired in close succession to ensure that they would all reach Israel at the same time. Israeli and American forces intercepted the great majority of them, and Hezbollah mostly avoided getting involved in the conflict.

This time, the Israeli official stated that the attacks might occur over a few days, with Iran firing its longer-range weapons from the east while Hezbollah attacks Israel from the north.

The Israeli official called the phone conversation that took place on Thursday between Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Joe Biden “tense.” Regarding accusations in Israeli media that Biden warned Netanyahu to “stop bullshitting me,” the official remained silent.

The conversation was made the day after Ismail Haniyeh, the political leader of Hamas, was killed in Tehran. Biden has stated in the open that the death had no bearing on the cease-fire negotiations in Gaza.

“The US is applying a lot of pressure to achieve a cease-fire. The official stated, “Biden wants it to happen during his term in office.” Israeli diplomats were in Cairo on Saturday to continue talks, but they left without making any progress.

The United States, the United Kingdom, and France have issued travel advisories to their people in Lebanon, urging those who are already there to depart. For individuals who wanted to leave Lebanon, the U.S. Embassy in Beirut advised them to “book any ticket available to them.”

Citing the security situation, Air France decided to continue suspending flights between Paris and Beirut until August 6. The business released a statement saying, “A fresh evaluation of the conditions on the ground will before the return of service.”

Numerous Israeli media outlets have reported that thousands of Israelis are currently unable to travel home as a result of aircraft cancellations.

According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, an Israeli attack earlier on Sunday targeted a makeshift camp for displaced people in the courtyard of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Gaza, killing four people—including a woman—and wounded more.

Men scurrying to the scene to tend to the injured and recover remains were captured on camera by an Associated Press correspondent as they attempted to put out the fire.

Thousands of civilians have sought refuge at the Deir al-Balah hospital, which serves as the primary medical institution in central Gaza, after being forced to evacuate their homes in the area devastated by conflict.

According to the ministry, at least eight people were killed in a separate hit that destroyed a house in northern Gaza, including three children, their parents, and their grandmother.

At least 16 people were killed and another 21 injured in an Israeli strike on a school that was converted into a shelter in Gaza City on Saturday, according to the Health Ministry of Gaza, which released the figures on Sunday. The Israeli military claimed to have hit a Hamas command center. The military frequently charges Palestinian militants with hiding in residential neighborhoods.

Although Israel claims to strive to protect civilians, the military seldom provides commentary on specific strikes, many of which result in the deaths of women and children. In their calculations, Gaza’s Health Ministry does not distinguish between militants and civilians.

When Hamas-led terrorists launched a surprise raid into southern Israel last October, they killed almost 1,200 people, most of them civilians, and kidnapped about 250 more.

The Health Ministry of Gaza reports that Israel’s enormous offensive has killed at least 39,550 Palestinians; it does not specify the number of militants among them. The great majority of Gaza’s 2.3 million people have been relocated, frequently several times, as a result of heavy airstrikes and military operations that have inflicted extensive destruction.

Since the beginning of the conflict, Hezbollah and Israel have engaged in frequent gunfire along the Lebanon border. According to the terrorist organization, this is done to lessen the strain on Hamas, another ally supported by Iran. A more catastrophic regional conflict is being feared as a result of the ongoing strikes and counterstrikes, which have intensified in intensity in recent months.

The Palestinian Health Ministry reports that since the beginning of the Gaza conflict, Israeli gunfire throughout the occupied West Bank has claimed the lives of over 590 Palestinians. The majority have perished in violent protests and Israeli incursions. During the 1967 Mideast War, Israel took the West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem; the Palestinians want all three of these lands for their future state.
