Roy Keane has explained what Manchester United needs to do to stay in the Premier League title race.
The Red Devils take on league leaders Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday in what could be a game that could decide the fate of the title race.
Manchester United’s win would close the gap with the Gunners to just five points, while a loss would widen the gap to 11 points.
Former Manchester United captain and club legend Roy Keane has credited his former club with a remarkable improvement this season.
The former Republic of Ireland midfielder claims defeat means the Red Devils will have to forget about their title chances. He told Sky Sports:
“Can they [#mufc] be in the mix to win the title? A few months ago you’d be told it was crazy. But if they can come here today and win, that’s a big question, they’re very much in the mix.”
“Anything less than a win [against Arsenal] and you can definitely forget #mufc for the title.”
Erik ten Haag has done a remarkable job since taking over at Old Trafford in the summer during a difficult time for the club.
The Red Devils have enjoyed themselves in recent weeks and find themselves very much in the title race.
They have 39 points from 19 games so far and are eight points behind Arsenal ahead of Sunday’s clash with the Gunners.
Erik ten Hag’s side is the only team to beat Arsenal in the Premier League this season.
The last meeting between the two sides at Old Trafford ended 3-1 in favor of Manchester United in September.
