According to Trent-Alexander, “it’s mental, to be honest,” Sky Sports. “An up-and-down game. Taking the lead, giving it back twice, losing with roughly five minutes remaining, getting an equalizer, and then winning.

“It was an incredible, emotionally charged game. I’m just overjoyed to have won and crossed the finish line.”

Manchester City is in third place with 29 points, two points behind leaders Arsenal, but they play later on Sunday. Fulham is ranked fourteenth.

“It’s the most beautiful goal I’ve ever seen in a game,” a beaming Klopp said to Sky Sports.

“Today we scored amazing goals, but we also have to admit that we almost gave it away. We played a lot of excellent stuff and were pretty good in the game, but the halftime score of 2-2 was justified.”

Mohamed Salah set up Endo for a long-range goal as Fulham appeared set to break Liverpool’s league record of 18 wins at Anfield dating back to October 2022.

Alexander-Arnold raced back to the center circle and met Kostas Tsimikas’ header with a header to score from the edge of the box.

Alexander-Arnold remarked, “Just kind of expected it, saw it was headed to the back post.” “I just tried to aim for the back of the net,” the player said. The celebration demonstrates how significant it was.”

Klopp gave the supporters a few happy fist bumps as he acknowledged the win.

Bobby De Cordova-Reid, Kenny Tete, and Harry Wilson all scored for Fulham, who twice overcame a goal deficit.

In the 20th minute, Alexander-Arnold was initially given credit for Liverpool’s first goal with an incredible free kick that flew over the wall, smacked into the crossbar, and then struck goalkeeper Leno.

In the 38th minute, Mac Allister scored a memorable first goal for Liverpool after a Fulham clearance landed at his feet. After a few touches, he shot a rocket into the upper corner from a distance of 25 yards.

A week prior, Alexander-Arnold’s goal in the 80th minute had ended Manchester City’s 23-game winning streak at the Etihad Stadium with a 1-1 draw.

In the first moments of the match, Salah appeared to have scored his 200th goal for Liverpool with a close-range stab, but VAR showed Luis Diaz was offside.

Leno took a knee to the head during the first half, which resulted in a lengthy stoppage. Despite having his head heavily bandaged, he continued to play.
