Mayfield connects with Evans for a 40-yard touchdown against the Falcons for the Buccaneers

Desmond Ridder’s 2-yard touchdown run gave the Atlanta Falcons an early lead on the first drive, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers answered with their own touchdown to tie the score at 7 on Sunday at Raymond James Stadium. This came three minutes and 21 seconds later.

For a 40-yard touchdown ball, Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield connected with wide receiver Mike Evans, who took a go route up the left sideline. On the play, Evans defeated cornerback A.J. Terrell one-on-one.

Evans’ 85th career touchdown catch currently puts him in a tie for 18th place with Lance Alworth, Hines Ward, and Paul Warfield. It was his fourth touchdown catch of the year.

Evans had a touchdown in his fourth consecutive home game, one short of the Buccaneers’ record-setting streak. According to ESPN Stats & Information, Evans broke the streak in 2021, making it three times in total.
