
Just a few miles from Lee County, Virginia, an earthquake was felt in Harlan County early on Friday.
A 2.2-magnitude earthquake occurred south of Cumberland, Kentucky, just before 4 a.m., according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The USGS investigated the earthquake and determined that its depth was less than a tenth of a mile.
One person had reported the earthquake to the USGS as of 12:45 p.m. on Friday. Anyone who witnessed the incident is encouraged by the USGS to submit their own report online.
