Gabby Barrett is anticipating having three children!
The pregnant mother, 23, proudly displayed her growing belly while strolling the red carpet and speaking with PEOPLE at the first-ever People’s Choice Country Awards, which were broadcast live from Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry on Thursday.
When asked what she and her husband Cade Foehner are most looking forward to as they await the arrival of their third child, she says, “Having another girl as well as another girl personality in the house.”
“My first child was a girl, my second was a boy, and my third will be another daughter. I enjoy raising my first daughter and I love girls, she says. So many different personalities living together.
Big sister Baylah May, who “understands it all,” is anticipating her sister’s baby girl, who is due in February.
“My first knows there’s a kid inside and what’s inside mom’s belly. And she always touches my belly, sleeps on it, and gives it a very beautiful kiss,” the woman says. She is 212 years old, so she is aware of everything and is thrilled for her sister.
With so much to look forward to, Barrett — who also shares a 10-month-old son with her fellow American Idol alum Augustine Boone — acknowledges that having a growing family has certain drawbacks, like “the loss of sleep.”
“Losing sleep is the mother’s biggest problem. Any parent would probably agree with that. Then, when another child is added, you must reorganize, balance, and establish everyone’s timetables. So all you have to do is be ready to lose some sleep at first, but you’ll get it back, so it’s all good,” she explains.
It doesn’t diminish “the biggest reward,” according to Barrett, which is witnessing something you produced move around and develop into the person you’re becoming. It’s awesome.
While they were both contestants on season 16 of American Idol in 2018, the “Pick Me Up” singer and Foehner initially became acquainted. A year after their American Idol season ended, Barrett and Foehner announced their engagement. Their on-screen romance swiftly developed into a serious partnership.
On October 5, 2019, the pair exchanged vows in front of their loved ones and friends at a ceremony in Texas.
When Barrett and Foehner finally became husband and wife, she stated, “We are so excited to finally be husband and wife. It is a blessing to find a husband or wife in this life. Marriage is a profound and special thing.”
