Prosecutors in Los Angeles said on Monday that they will not press charges against Atlanta hip-hop singer Killer Mike about an alleged brawl that occurred during the February Grammy Awards.

The artist, real name Michael Render, “effectively fulfilled the requirements of the Office’s Hearing procedure, which included fulfilling a community service commitment,” according to a statement from the City Attorney’s Office.

Michael A. Goldstein, Killer Mike’s attorney, stated in a statement earlier on Monday that “Charges with crime were not justified.”

“Mike is now clear,” he declared.

In a statement released a few days later, Killer Mike, 49, attributed the events of February 4 at Crypto.com Arena to “an over-zealous security guard” and “Some uncertainty regarding which door my group and I ought to go through.”

The rapper allegedly shoved and elbowed the unnamed event worker when she attempted to guide him to a security checkpoint, according to one of several law enforcement sources who discussed the situation at the time.

After being examined by medical professionals, the woman conducted a citizen’s arrest, which prompted police to detain Killer Mike on battery charges, according to several law enforcement sources.

The Run the Jewels member, a hip-hop scholar and supporter of Atlanta’s pop culture comeback, took home three Oscars last year for his sixth long player, “Michael,” including best rap performance, best rap song, and best rap album.

He picked up another award late on Sunday night for “Michael,” the BET Awards’ album of the year.
