What are the chances, then? Nearly three months after the previous jackpot was won in the Golden State, a Californian who purchased a Powerball ticket on Wednesday won the $1.7 billion reward.

According to the game’s website, there was only one winning ticket in the drawing on Wednesday, which caused the prize to be reset to $20 million.

The winning ticket’s sale location was stated on the California Lottery website as being in a market in Frazier Park, a town of around 2,500 people in Kern County between Bakersfield & Los Angeles.

Wednesday’s winning numbers were 22-24-40-52-64, while the Powerball number was 10.

Since it was last won in mid-July with a value of $1.08 billion, the reward has been rolling over. Someone in downtown Los Angeles purchased the winning ticket.

After nobody won the $1.5 billion jackpot on Monday night, the total amount carried over and climbed once more for Wednesday’s drawing.

The second-largest jackpot ever won in the game was the $1.765 billion jackpot on Wednesday. The largest Powerball jackpot, which was also won in California in November, was $2.04 billion.

There is a one in 292.2 million chance of winning the largest Powerball prize.
