The Enquirer/ Erin Couch

The Anderson Township home of Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon is part of a crime scene being investigated by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Charmaine McGuffey said Tuesday.

The latest update from the sheriff’s office did not specify how or directly Joe Mixon himself is involved in the investigation that began Monday.

The investigation started at around 8.30 pm. The sheriff’s office said Monday when deputies were called to a report of shots fired in the 7900 block of Ayers Road.

A teen was taken to Children’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the sheriff’s office. It is not yet known what kind of injuries the teenager suffered. The Forest Hills School District said the injured teen, who is in good health, is a student at Anderson High School.

A neighbor, Tracy Scheper, told FOX19 NOW that she went to Joe Mixon’s property when she says her son’s friends were playing Nerf wars.

The neighbor said that shots rang out from Joe Mixon’s home, but it was not known who fired the gun.

“The person, or someone within that house, opened fire and fired seven rounds, slightly injuring a teenage boy and apparently was scaring … people who were involved in Nerf wars.” were involved,” Schaeper said.

The sheriff’s office said Tuesday that a house belonging to the 26-year-old man on the run was part of the crime scene.

Hamilton County sheriff’s deputies were seen entering Joe Mixon’s home early Tuesday, about five hours after responding to a call of shots fired.

According to the sheriff’s office, a search warrant was executed at a home in the 7900 block of Ayers Road. He did not say whether it was Joe Mixon’s house or a neighbor’s.

The sheriff’s office said they gathered evidence “that will be part of this active investigation” from searches by home deputies.

Deputies placed crime scene tape around a home on Ayers Road during the evening.

A neighboring home is the same one listed as the home address of Joe Mixon, who was issued a warrant for his arrest earlier this year that was later expunged. According to Hamilton County Auditor’s records, no changes have been made to the property since then.

There was at least one evidence marker in Joe Mixon’s yard. Deputies spread the crime scene tape to his home around 11 p.m.

Half an hour later, the deputy was seen banging on Joe Mixon’s door, loudly identifying himself as the sheriff’s representative and asking the homeowner to come outside.

He let a car into the driveway of the house at approximately 12:15 p.m.

A law enforcement officer arrived at approximately 1:30 am carrying an envelope of documents. Several delegates entered the house minutes later. Torch rays can be seen all around the house. At around two o’clock in the afternoon, three representatives came inside with the items of demonetisation.

Around 3:20 a.m. the crime scene tape was removed and the deputies left without making an arrest.
