Tavanchai talks about the strengths and weaknesses of Jamal Yusupov

ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Champion Tawanchai PK. Sanchai is coming into his first bout in 2023 with some serious momentum behind him.

In 2022, he was crowned World Champion and after three stellar performances throughout the year, he was also named ONE Championship’s Muay Thai Fighter of the Year.

At just 23 years old, the times have skyrocketed for Tawanchai, who is already competing at the highest level. But despite his many recent victories, the World Champion knows he cannot underestimate any opponent he steps inside the Circle with.

Turkey’s Jamal Yusupov is a worthy contender after scoring three consecutive wins under the ONE Championship banner. With wins over Yodsanklai, Sami Sana, and Joe Nattavat, Yusupov secured the No. 2 ranking in the division. On February 24, he would like to reduce the reign of the champion.

In an interview with the promotion, the World Champion broke down his upcoming opponent’s skill set:

“[Yusupov’s] power is heavy, strong punch. He hardly has any weaknesses. He is one of the strongest fighters. You can’t underestimate them in any way.”
Tavanchai vs. Yusupov is set for the co-main event of ONE FIGHT NIGHT 7 on Prime Video. Live from Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, the event is free to watch via Prime Video for North American viewers.
