Taylor Swift has taken notice of Simone Biles‘s recent floor routine during her U.S. Olympic gymnastics team trials.
Biles showcased her unmatched gymnastics prowess over the weekend in an attempt to earn a spot on Team USA’s Olympic squad. Swift’s song “…Ready For It?” was playing in the background while Biles gave her amazing floor routine on June 28.
As the song’s beat starts, Biles performs a series of flips and twists that result in a triple-double in a video of her routine that NBC Olympics & Paralympics has uploaded on X.
The audience exploded in applause when the gold medalist waved at the conclusion of her program.
After seeing the message, Swift praised the athlete in her response.
She joked, “Watched this so many times and still unready,” referencing her song.
“But she’s ready for it,” Swift continued. The Grammy winner also used the red heart emoji, a gold medal, the American flag, and three hands clapping.
Biles won over the judges in addition to Swift and the crowd. After Day One, the gymnasts led in floor exercise scores, according to NBC Sports. She was first in the all-around division as well.
She is getting closer to competing in her third consecutive Games in Paris next month because of her performance on the Olympic courses.
“Ready For It?” has appeared in Biles’ floor routine before. She performed the song in May at the 2024 Core Hydration Classic.
Over the years, a bond has grown between Biles and Swift. The pop star has previously gushed over Biles as well.
Before Biles’s beam routine in August 2021, the “Fortnight” singer delivered a pump-up film.
“What are our expectations of our heroes? What are our expectations of them? And from them, what do we need? What occurs if they catch us off guard? Swift enquired.
“When the entire world is focused on you, everything you do has greater significance,” she went on. It might be a very big load. There’s a potential that everything may alter. Her voice has been just as important as her gifts over the past week. Her candor is just as lovely as the flawlessness that has always been her hallmark. However, are you not seeing? It still is. She is entirely human. It’s quite simple to refer to her as a hero because of this. Simone Biles is back in Tokyo on the beam.
Swift’s inspirational statement was released following Biles’s July 2021 withdrawal from the individual all-around competitions and the U.S. women’s gymnastics team in order to focus on her mental health.
At the time, Biles responded to Swift’s complimentary remarks on X.
I’m crying, she admitted. How unique. Dear @taylorswift13, I adore you.
Swift retorted that she felt the same way.
I sobbed while watching you, she wrote. This week was a lesson in emotional intelligence and resilience, however, I feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity to see you throughout the years. You taught us all a lot. I’m grateful.
