Riley Hawk is the son of skateboarding superstar Tony Hawk, and Frances Bean Cobain is the daughter of rock stars Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love.
On October 7, the couple wed in Los Angeles.
Michael Stipe, of R.E.M., was Frances Bean Cobain’s godfather and served as the ceremony’s officiant.
TMZ broke the story first on Tuesday.
In an Instagram post from January 2022, the 31-year-old daughter of the late Nirvana leader disclosed her relationship with Hawk, 30. It’s thought that in early 2021, during her year-long hiatus from social media, they started dating.
She captioned a slideshow of her images, saying, “I took a year-long break from sharing on Instagram which was extremely beneficial for my mental, emotional & spiritual health.” “I’m really appreciative that 2021 helped me become more present-focused than I’ve ever been.”
The two were shown together in a few of the pictures.
“I wanted to share a few really happy moments that I created or were filmed during the last year. I hope that 2022 brings genuine connections, lots of warmth, and a deep self-discovery for everyone,” she added.
From 2014 until 2016, Frances Bean Cobain was married to Isaiah Silva. During their divorce, she battled in court to keep him from receiving any of her father’s estimated $450 million estate. In the end, Silva was given ownership of one of Kurt Cobain’s guitars as a result of the legal dispute. Later on, he made over $6 million when he sold it at auction.
Like his father, Hawk is a professional skateboarder, and this is his first marriage. In addition, he fronts the punk group Warish, which went on tour in the fall of 2021 after putting out two albums. The band’s sound is frequently likened to Nirvana, and they are classified as grunge-influenced.
