For a new holiday film, Lifetime has put together an Avengers-level cast of celebrities from the 1980s.
The fittingly named Ladies of the ’80s: A Divas Christmas for Lifetime’s 2017 holiday movie lineup will star Loni Anderson (WKRP in Cincinnati), Morgan Fairchild (Falcon Crest), Linda Gray (Dallas), Donna Mills (Knots Landing), and Nicollette Sheridan (Knots Landing). Later this year, the film will have its debut, and EW will have the exclusive first look.
The official synopsis for Ladies of the ’80s from Lifetime states that the show follows “five glamorous soap opera actresses” as they “reunite to share the spotlight to shoot their final Christmas episode for their long-running soap opera.” The director Nell (Taylor Ann Thompson) and producer Alex (Travis Burns), who are also old friends from college, try their best to keep things on track, but as the women come together, old tensions threaten to derail the entire production.
They grudgingly decide to put aside their differences and old secrets to ‘act’ as if they still love one other because the program is on the verge of being canceled due to the ladies’ well-known diva behavior. The ladies are eager to play matchmaker and plot to unite Alex and Nell when their old sparks rekindle. The divas learn along the way that their shared love is also still very strong.
Even more reason for your Gen X heart to burst with festive cheer: Tiffany from the 1980s shopping mall pop sensation Tiffany will sing the movie’s theme song.
