Travis Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, had a non-contact ankle injury during Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings, although he later returned to play.

Early in the second quarter, Patrick Mahomes threw a short ball to Kelce, who received it and fell to the ground at the Chiefs’ 34-yard line without being tackled.

Before his teammates assisted him in standing up, he seemed to grab at his right ankle or lower leg.

Kelce sprinted off with a visible stumble and struggled to walk back and forth on the sidelines for a while before limping into a tunnel for additional testing.

During the broadcast of the game, CBS stated that Kelce had his right foot X-rayed. He was back in for the following drive after watching the opening possession of the third quarter from the sidelines.

Due to his connections to Taylor Swift, Kelce, one of the best tight ends in the game, has suddenly become one of the most well-known sportsmen in popular culture.

By just attending the Chiefs’ last two games, at home versus the Chicago Bears and afterward at the New York Jets a week ago, Swift has united two fan bases, Swifties and football fans.

She didn’t seem to be there for the Minneapolis game on Sunday.

In the first half, Kelce had five receptions for 22 yards. Due to a hyperextended knee, he was unable to play in the season opener against Detroit.

Week 1’s season-ending injury to Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers on the MetLife Stadium turf reignited calls from athletes to ban artificial grass.
