At one of the greatest gatherings for their charity, Phoebe Gates felt the affection for her parents.
On Wednesday in New York City, Phoebe participated in and moderated a panel at the Goalkeepers Foundation event hosted by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
The Stanford University student, who just spent her 21st birthday with her parents in New York City, gave her mother, Melinda French Gates, a warm embrace and leaned in to give her a kiss on the cheek as she posed for a picture during the celebration, which she documented on her Instagram Story. Model Karlie Kloss and Phoebe’s older sister, Jennifer Gates, joined the couple, who also hugged on stage.
During a panel she hosted, Phoebe explored entrepreneurship, agency, and gender justice with Kloss and author Kathryn Finney. Phoebe has utilized her prominent family’s platform to fight for a range of topics, including reproductive rights.
The 67-year-old Bill Gates, Phoebe’s father, even gave her a warm shout-out on his Instagram Story, noting that she “did an outstanding job speaking about the significance of women’s power.”
The campaign this year featured hard-hitting moderators like NBC News journalist Andrea Mitchell as well as a performance by Tony Award winner Cynthia Erivo. It focused on scaling creativity to reduce maternal and infant mortality in addition to the life-changing effects of preparing mothers for healthy childbirth.
Ashu Martha Agbornyenty, 24, of Cameroon; Eden Tadesse, 26, of Ethiopia; and the Farmlink Project, of the United States, were the three recipients of this year’s Goalkeepers Global Goals Awards who were recognized by the organization on Tuesday at a special ceremony.
The Gates family has had a really busy two weeks outside of foundation events.
The couple, who had been married for 27 years until announcing their split in 2021, got back together on September 14 to celebrate the birthday of their youngest child.
The happy parents paid tribute to their child on his special day earlier in the day.
“Congratulations, @phoebegates! You’ll always be my little girl, but seeing you accomplish great things has never surprised me,” wrote Bill on Instagram, posting a collection of vintage father-daughter photos.
Melinda gave her daughter advice for her 21st year during a FaceTime session that was posted on Instagram. She advised Phoebe to keep in mind that she is “a lot” aware of herself and to never lose sight of who she is.
The philanthropist and world advocate said, “I love you so terribly much.
On September 13, Phoebe uploaded an Instagram picture with the hashtag “fashion week wrap up” that featured several behind-the-scenes photos from the event, including one with her mother.
The former intern for British Vogue is dabbling in the fashion world, and of course, it’s all for the better.
In conjunction with fashion designer Stella McCartney, Phoebe and her roommate Sophia Kianni, who are launching the digital fashion platform Phia, released a limited-edition capsule bag collection last month.
Phoebe made a suggestion on Phia’s goal in an interview she gave to The Information earlier this year.
