On Friday, President Joe Biden will visit Maine for the most recent in a series of speeches promoting “Bidenomics,” his name for his economic policy, which will this time center on manufacturing jobs.
Additionally, he intends to sign an executive order emphasizing American manufacturing and innovation, which the White House sums up with the phrase “Invent it here, make it here.”
According to a White House information sheet, the executive order will strengthen incentives for domestic manufacture of novel inventions supported by federal funding.
The speech will be delivered at Auburn Manufacturing Inc., a maker of textiles that, according to a White House representative, is “interacting with double-digit growth as a consequence of this President’s Investing in America agenda.”
In the news conference on Thursday, press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said, “You’re going to witness the president in Maine tomorrow speaking about how to bring jobs again to this country, how to bringing manufacturing back to this country — somethings that the last administration attempted to do and it was a joke.” And this president is bringing it about.
According to her, Biden will be visiting Maine for the first time as president. In Auburn, where he will be appearing on Friday, Biden won the state in 2020 and garnered 52.8% of the vote.
The president will leave his speech afterward and travel to Maine, Freeport, for a campaign celebration.
The White House claims that “Bidenomics,” which prioritizes public investments, competition, and worker education to expand the middle class, is the latest in an ongoing string of speeches made by Biden and high-ranking officials in his administration that emphasize public investments and job creation. During a visit to Philadelphia on July 20, Biden emphasized union jobs and the manufacturing of clean energy.
