Brooke Shields has disclosed that she went to the hospital due to a seizure she had just had. Until now, she had not discussed this medical incident in public.

In an interview with Glamour that was released on Wednesday, the actor, supermodel, and novelist said that she suffered a seizure the night before her solo exhibition, “Previously Owned by Brooke Shields,” which took place in New York City from September 12 to 23.

“On Thursday, just before the event, I experienced a full-blown grand mal seizure. Nobody is aware of it,” Shields said to Samantha Barry, Editor-in-Chief of Glamour.

According to Shields, the incident started when she left her house, was waiting for an Uber, and was sipping water. It seemed to her that people were seeing her “looking weird” and asking her if she was okay, but she didn’t believe there was an issue. Before she seemed to pass out, Shields remembered going to a restaurant and having workers approach her.

“Everything begins to get dark. Then I fall to my side with my hands down and hit the wall with my head first,” Shields recalled.

The 58-year-old claimed to have had several symptoms, including trying to swallow her tongue, frothing at the mouth, and becoming blue in the face.

“I’m getting into an ambulance the next thing I remember.” I’m running on oxygen,” she said.

Actor Bradley Cooper, according to Shields, ended up going with her to a nearby hospital, where medical professionals informed her that she had low sodium and ingested excessive amounts of water.

“I drowned myself after overflowing my system. Additionally, a seizure may occur if there is insufficient salt in the body, blood, or urine, according to Shields.
