Todd and Julie Chrisley are currently serving a combined 19-year term, but it only took them around eight months to begin. It appears they may be leaving federal prison earlier than expected.

The Chrisleys, who are most known for their reality television series “Chrisley Knows Best,” were found guilty of conspiring to defraud banks and the IRS of millions of dollars last year.

Todd Chrisley was given a sentence in November that included 36 months of supervised release in addition to 12 years in jail. In addition to her seven years in prison, Julie Chrisley received a 36-month period of supervised release.

Todd Chrisley is expected to be released from FPC Pensacola on January 22, 2033, according to prison records. His sentence of twelve years is nearly two years short.

The current anticipated release date from FMC Lexington for Julie Chrisley is October 19, 2028, or slightly over a year earlier.

The couple’s lawyer, Jay Surgent, told Business Insider that Todd and Julie are without a doubt examples of model prisoners who were given excessive terms. “I believe Todd is down to 10 years, and Julie is now at five years.”

When revised sentencing rules are put into effect in November, according to Surgent, their punishment will be cut even further.

The couple is currently appealing their judgment.

In 2017, Channel 2 Action News began looking into the Chrisleys after learning that Todd Chrisley had probably avoided paying Georgia state income taxes for a number of years.

By 2018, the Chrisleys owed the state about $800,000 in liens, according to court records that Channel 2 Action News was able to collect.

In June 2022, after the couple had gone to trial, a federal jury had declared them guilty of bank fraud and tax evasion.
