David Njoku, a tight end with the Browns, surprisingly showed up on the injury list on Saturday after sustaining burns to his face and arm in a fire pit mishap at home.
Njoku has come to the game using a mask to hide the burns on his face, according to Kimberley Martin of ESPN.com.
Martin was informed by coach Kevin Stefanski on Saturday night that it won’t be known if Njoku can play until he tries to put on a helmet.
It’s difficult to say until we can see what the face and forehead look like, Stefanski informed Martin. He insists on playing, but once more, he needs to be able to put a helmet on. There, it’s difficult to forecast.
Njoku’s status will become official in an hour when the Browns make their list of players who won’t play against the Browns on Sunday.
