Derek Hough, the “Dancing With the Stars” judge, and Hayley Erbert, who have been partners in both life and on the dance floor for many years, are married.
Hough, 38, and “DWTS” professional dancer Erbert, 28, got married on Saturday in front of loved ones in Monterey County, Northern California’s redwood forest, according to People magazine.
According to Hough, it’s one of the most magnificent spots. “It’s just like a fairytale.”
We got married in front of this mother tree that is surrounded by all these smaller trees even though we’re in a redwood forest, Erbert remarked. “They scatter every seed, and it grows like an army of kids to guard the mother. Its symbolism was exquisite. We are here to start our family by sowing seeds.
Following the wedding, attendees made their way to the reception, which was housed in a century-old barn.
Erbert performed on “DWTS” for seven seasons and four tours before the couple started dating in 2015. Hough, Julianne Hough’s younger brother, was a professional dancer on “DWTS” before moving to the judge’s panel. He set a record by taking home the coveted Mirrorball Trophy a record-breaking six times during the televised dance competition.
On June 2, 2022, the couple announced their engagement via joint Instagram posts that showed a perfectly lit dancers’ embrace amidst 250 enormous candles, white flower petals, and white feathers. Hough completely renovated the couple’s Los Angeles house in order to prepare up the surprise engagement.
The Instagram caption stated, “It’s only the beginning… the beginning of forever.”
A romantic song he had created called “Hold Back Time” with an animated video of a bride and groom plunging into a lake from a dock was posted on Instagram by Hough on Wednesday, hinting at the upcoming wedding this coming weekend.
Don’t worry about the future, Hough sings in the song, “We’ve got love, and we won’t let it go.”
The duo will perform together onstage during their “Symphony of Dance” nationwide tour, which begins on September 28. Hough will also serve as a judge for ABC’s “DWTS” this autumn.
Erbert said to Brides magazine that their first dance would be a private one within a professional existence.
We just want this dance to be for us because we perform for a living, she said. We’re not interested in performing for other people.
Hough told Brides, “We don’t need to be flawless; we just want to feel beautiful and at home. “I don’t care about that nearly as much as just staring into her eyes while we rock back and forth. I want to experience that moment fully.
People claimed that the first dance of the couple was to the song “Fall Into Me” by Forest Blakk and was performed on an old mirrored floor with a fog machine.
