Although Miley Cyrus may have continued her father Billy Ray Cyrus’ performing career, the two don’t always agree.
“My dad had the No. 1 country hit when I was born. In a video posted to TikTok on Saturday, August 26, Miley, 30, said, “When I see the numbers, I simply see the individuals behind it, appreciating the music. “I only see numbers of people,”
Billy Ray’s “Achy Breaky Heart” topped the music charts in 1992, the same year Miley was born.
“My dad grew up exactly the opposite of me, so I think that’s where me and my dad’s relationship to fame and success are wildly different,” Miley stated in the video, which is a part of her “Used to Be Young” recap series in honor of her new single with the same name. “More emotionally than I ever could, he was affected by feeling liked by a large audience. In the film, which was also featured in her Endless Summer Vacation: Further (Backyard Sessions) Hulu show on Friday, August 25, Miley remarked, “I do have a lot of beautiful experiences performing music with my dad while gaining knowledge and absorbing. “I think I am able to see my wheels turning as I listen to his voice and observe how he plays the instrument,” the speaker said.
She stated, “I will say that I truly feel vocally that my dad was under-appreciated.”
While Miley grew up witnessing her father dominate the country music scene, she finally had her own big break when she was cast as Miley Stewart/Hannah Montana on the Disney Channel show Hannah Montana. Her on-screen father, Billy Ray, later complained that the show “destroyed” the ties between his children.

In January 2011, less than a year after Billy Ray’s initial divorce petition from Tish, 56, was filed, Hannah Montana came to an end.
