Brazil forward Neymar Jr has broken his silence after suffering a foot injury in his team’s FIFA World Cup opener against Serbia yesterday (November 24).

The five-time world champions won 2-0 against Serbia and Richarlison scored twice, including his second goal belter.

However, after Neymar left the field with a ankle injury, it became a matter of concern for coach Tite. The assailant’s face showed a look of concern.

It has since been revealed that Paris Saint Germain’s (PSG) attacking group will be sidelined for the remainder of the match. He has now broken his silence on the matter as he wrote on social media:

“There is no explanation for the pride and love I feel wearing the shirt. If God gave me the chance to choose a country to be born in, it would be Brazil. Nothing in my life was given or easy. I always had to follow my dreams and my goals. Not wishing bad on anyone but Helping those in need. Today has been one of the toughest moments of my career… and again at the World Cup.

He added: “I’m hurt, it’s boring, it’s going to hurt but I’m sure I’ll get a chance to come back because I’ll do everything I can to help my country, my team and myself. The enemy will knock me down like this? NEVER! I’m a child of the impossible God and My faith is eternal.”

The Brazil number 10 also suffered a serious injury during the Selecao’s 2014 World Cup campaign. A quarter-final shock against Colombia proved to be the end of his tournament as Le Selecao were eliminated in the semi-finals by Germany.
