The two teams above the round of 16 in the finals have met on the only previous occasion in the 2022 FIFA World Cup when South Korea take on Ghana in search of their first win of the tournament.
Paulo Bento’s side, who finished fourth in the 2002 final, were held to a 0-0 draw by strong rivals Uruguay but are still looking for their first shot on target in Group H with captain Son Heung-min still in contention. A protective face mask is used to wear.
Ghana, who reached the quarter-finals in 2010, were dominant in a thrilling match against Portugal, defeating a more experienced side 3-2, ignoring a young and inexperienced side at Otto Addo’s disposal.

South Korea vs Ghana Live Update, 2022 World Cup Highlights
FULL – TIME: South Korea 2 – 3 Ghana

90+2 min: South Korea Subs: Kwon on, Kim Min-jae off
89 min: We go for the knock but imagine there will be plenty of time added on given all the substitutions, goal celebrations and some significant breaks in the game for treatment of injured players.
83 minutes: Chance! Not for the first time in recent minutes, South Korean left-back Kim Joon-soo missed a good goal-scoring opportunity, firing high over the bar when he had plenty of goal to aim for.
78 min: Ghana shout a decent penalty on Inaki Williams for a Kim Young-gwon foul. The South Korean defender twisted his boot and got a lot of shin but didn’t get the ball and can count himself lucky.
76th minute: South Korea are under pressure now and take a goal-line clearance from Mohamed Salis to preserve Ghana’s lead.
75th minute: OFF! Lee Kang-in cracks a left-footed free-kick at the wall from distance but Ghana goalkeeper Lawrence Atte-Zigi gets down well to keep it wide of the right post.
68th minute: Goal to Ghana by Mohammed Kudus
Gideon Mensah cuts it in from the left, Inaki Williams miskicks the middle and the ball falls to Mohamed Qudus, who side-foots home with his left foot for his second goal of the game. Where does this game go now?

50th minute: Ghanaian full back Tariq Lamptey finds himself in an advanced position in South Korea’s penalty area. The Brighton man cuts inside and lets a left-footed shot fly, but it flies wide of the left post.
46th minute: We’re back at the Education City Stadium. Have South Korea learned their lesson from that first half or will Ghana continue to win gold – or should it be black? – The stars in this Group H encounter?

24th minute: Goal for Ghana! Against the run of the game. Jordan Ayew curled in a poor free-kick that South Korea failed to deal with, and defender Mohamed Salisu headed home left-footed from close range. Referee Anthony Taylor checks with VAR there was nothing wrong – handball suggested – but it’s a given!

21st minute: Cho’s bit of afters after a tackle on Daniel Amartey, who isn’t impressed and sticks out a hand that catches Amartey in the face. Nothing too malicious about it, but the Ghanaian defender collects his first booking of the game.
18th minute: Two more corners for South Korea, the sixth and seventh of the game. Cho Gue-sung gets a bit of a shock in the first, hitting Mohamed Salisu’s shoulder before Ghana clears. Son’s second set-piece is led by Gideon Mensah.
13th minute: It’s all South Korea in these opening stages. Son Heung-min already has his fifth corner strong, but it comes to nothing. Ghana were pinned inside their own half but Jordan Ayew does well to nick the ball and win a relief free-kick. Black stars have a lot of support.
