The Ronald McDonald House made the decision to take a vacation for all of us.
McDonald’s announced on July 8 that Kit Kat Banana Split, a new McFlurry taste, will be entering the lineup. Along with Oreo and M&M variations, the new flavor is the latest in the chain’s icy collaborations with giants of the confectionery business.
The restaurant’s famous vanilla soft serve, genuine banana, strawberry clusters, and bits of crispy Kit Kat wafer bars are all included in the Kit Kat Banana Split McFlurry. Beginning on July 10 and lasting as long as supplies last, the dessert is available at participating establishments around the country.
McDonald’s isn’t known for introducing new varieties of frozen treats, but in May, customers were treated to the Grandma McFlurry, which had chopped, crunchy candy pieces and “a delicious syrup” that they claimed tasted like butterscotch.
Other previous flavors included strawberry shortcake and 2023’s Peanut Butter Crunch, which was well-liked by consumers.
Furthermore, the release from McDonald’s verified the resurgence of their Smoky BLT Quarter Pounder with Cheese (QPC), set to return to menus on July 10. Those who prefer more meaty goodness can have it without cheese and double it.
The most recent version of this burger, which made its debut in 2022, is served on a toasted sesame seed bun with a quarter-pound beef patty, two slices of American cheese, three half-strips of thick-cut applewood smoked bacon, three tomatoes, shredded lettuce, and BLT sauce. According to McDonald’s, the sauce is seasoned with black pepper, parsley, and paprika and has a “lingering smokiness.”
For a limited period of time, while supplies last, participating restaurants around the country will serve the Smoky BLT Quarter Pounder with or without cheese.
All year long, McDonald’s has been releasing new menu items. Inspired by McDonald’s Japan’s Black Garlic Sauce, the brand recently unveiled its Special Grade Garlic Sauce, which it claims is the “first EVER garlic sauce” to be available on the chain’s U.S. menu.
With its $5 Meal Deal, the restaurant has also formally entered the value wars, joining a plethora of other chains vying for patrons with less expensive fare. The four items in the bundle, which went live on June 25, are a McChicken or McDouble, four pieces of chicken nuggets, fries, and a drink.
