Miley Cyrus values the date of August 25.
It’s the day in 2013 when she debuted the music video for her popular song “Wrecking Ball” and later that day, she and Robin Thicke made history by performing at the MTV Video Music Awards.
And now, 10 years later, Cyrus has just released a brand-new song called “Used to Be Young” that looks back on her career.
She sings, “I know I used to be crazy,” in the song. You say I used to be wild, but I say I used to be young. I know I used to be fun.
In the music video for the song, the 30-year-old singer, who became famous on the Disney Channel sitcom “Hannah Montana,” was seen singing while donning a Mickey Mouse T-shirt layered beneath a red bedazzled corset top.
What does the song refer to?
This song is about enjoying who we will become, loving who we are, and appreciating who we have been. In the description of an Instagram picture that included the song, Cyrus stated, “I feel proud when I think about my past and thrilled when I think about my future. “I am thankful for my devoted followers who help me realize my dreams every day. I genuinely appreciate the steadiness of your unwavering assistance. The song below is for you.
Tish Cyrus, Cyrus’ mother, reflected on her daughter’s accomplishments in a remark on the article.
“I adore you, little one, and I’m overjoyed to be your mother. The past 16 years have been quite the ride for us, and I am so excited to see what the next 16 hold! Because I’ll be by your side no matter where it leads you… A red heart emoji was also added to her statement.
The release of “Used to Be Young” coincides with the tenth anniversary of Cyrus’ three-time platinum album “Bangerz,” which featured the singles “We Can’t Stop,” “Adore You,” and “Wrecking Ball” in addition to other hits.
In a May interview with British Vogue, Cyrus discussed that time in her life.
Because I was distinguishing myself from a role I had performed, I was drawing attention to myself, according to Cyrus. “Anyone, you have more to prove when you’re 20 or 21. ‘I’m not my parents,’ you say. ‘I am who I am.'”
She stated, “I carried some guilt and shame around with me for years because of how much trouble and uproar I really caused.” “I see how brutally I was viewed now that I’m an adult. As a result of the harsh judgment I received as a youngster from adults, I now recognize that as an adult, I would never criticize a child unfairly.
When will Cyrus go on tour?
Cyrus’ ninth studio album, “Endless Summer Vacation,” was released earlier this year and included the smash song “Flowers.”
Despite the album’s popularity, Cyrus said in May that she had no immediate plans to go on tour.
We shall continue on this road together as we have for the past nearly two decades, and performing for YOU has been some of the happiest days of my life. I simply don’t want to get ready in a locker room, and this has nothing to do with a lack of respect for the fans. Which is the truth of traveling,” she stated in a post on Instagram.
If you’ve been following my career, you know that I always change, and the way I feel like that may too. It’s not what’s best for me right now.
