Nowadays, it would be difficult to locate anything in the store for less than $1. However, on Monday in observance of National Cheeseburger Day, customers of McDonald’s will be able to get a double cheeseburger for only 50 cents, just 45 cents more than the first hamburger price of the restaurant company in 1948.
The offer is only available to customers who download the McDonald’s app, and it is only good for one burger per person. The price of a McDonald’s cheeseburger can normally range from $1 to $2.79, according to the company’s official website.
Fast food has typically been a low-profit industry with dissatisfied customers. Chains announce significant incentives to promote their mobile apps and boost sales. Promoting the app has led to an increase in repeat business.
Not just McDonald’s but other burger chains also provide discounts. Through September 22, Wendy’s is offering its junior bacon cheeseburger for just one cent when you order something else from the menu.
And if Burger King did nothing for National Cheeseburger Day, he might be compelled to give up his kingdom. When regular customers sign up for the chain’s Royal Perks program, they are eligible to receive a free cheeseburger, but only if they spend at least $1.
Burgers are also on sale in regional franchises like Smashburger, Krystal, and Carl’s Jr.
Such incentives are not brand-new. In the past, National Cheeseburger Day has seen sales at many burger joints.
