The FIFA World Cup officially kicked off with a standalone opening match on Sunday, November 20, after host nation Qatar lost to Group A foes Ecuador.
That was just the first of 64 matches on tap at Qatar 2022, and the next tournament is never far away in the next 28 days. During the group stage, there will be four matches in one day – 11 hours of football.
The rest of the month has fewer holidays: December 7-8 (Wednesday and Thursday) and December 11-12 (Sunday and Monday) and December 15-16 (Thursday and Friday before the third-place match and the final).
Next World Cup match 2022
The next match of the World Cup will be the Group B opener between England and Iran, with the Three Lions keen to win. Given the country’s proximity to Qatar, it will be interesting to see whether Iran has any sense of home-field advantage.
The first of three matches between England and Iran will take place on Monday, November 21, with the day starting and ending with Group B.

Ecuador’s next game
La Tri will play a match against the eighth-ranked Netherlands. The Dutch are favorites to win the group, but star forward Memphis Depay is struggling for fitness, and other forwards may have to step up to fill the void. This could be an opportunity for Ecuador to put pressure on the top of the group.
If things don’t go well against the Dutch. As they did in the group opener, Ecuador’s final match against Senegal could turn into a playoff tie to join them in the round of 16.

Next Game of Qatar
Qatar will not want to put itself in a position to advance in its final group game against the Dutch.
After no points from their first game, Qatar will need a win against Senegal at all costs to have any real hope of joining the hosts’ list of knockouts.
